Public association “Republican Association of Parents of the Visually Handicapped Children” active gets to grips with the problem of children's blindness in Belarus.
Our association has been working since 1995. The founders had an idea to unite the parents having the same problem – their beloved child will never see.
Association unites parents against problems and disasters that fell to their lot. We try our best to help parents to develop their children psychologically and physically that can help them to become independent and self-reliant persons and to be happy.
Today association includes 70 members all over Belarus.
Using joint efforts we try:
Besides members of the association see one more important goal is to inform the public about the problem of children's blindness in Belarus. It is very important to prevent children's eye diseases from first minutes of birth providing early assessment of children's psychic conditions using neuropsychological and neurophysiologic surveys and other methods.
As of today the activity of the association is based completely on the initiative of the parents, efforts of the Head of the association (Mr Aliaksandr Barysiuk) and members of Central council.
Also we are very much obliged to CBM Company for their help and support. It is an international Christian development organization, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities.
Growth and development of the child is a hard, long way where lots of questions appear as obstacles. If parents have a handicapped child they have rather more questions.
We set up this association in order to help, give a support, prevent those parents whose children are blind or have different eye diseases from being alone in such a difficult situation.
